Your dedication and training regimen have inspired me to get back into better hunting shape.

I spent today hiking and fly fishing in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virgina, and realized how far I am from the condition in which I need to be to get far back into mountainous public land.

Hey Cam,
Thats awesome you can push yourself to such extremes! I’m 15 and live and hunt mainly in Southern Oregon. I mainly bowhunt. But last year I wanted to get a deer under my belt. Hiked 5 miles into a wilderness area and killed a nice bodied buck!

If I had not read your books I’d be lost on the gear I needed in my adventures!

I have to say you’ve inspired me to get back in shape for the up coming fall. I live in the east and don’t hunt mountains as rough as you. I do hunt a lot of public land in Appalachian mnts that requires 1-3 hrs of walking to just get away from other hunters. Keep up the great work and look forward to getting your book.

I just read your backcountry book, incredible. I have lived most of my life in Oregon, and this is the best testimony I have read about our blessed state. I also appreciate your honesty. Its not a bow, or a camo, its a hunter, his determination, and his work ethic that produce results. Keep up the “great” work.

I just finished reading your book backcountry bowhunting and I must say it was very helpful in learning the way to go about being a backcountry bowhunter. Even though I live in West Virginia I do all of my hunting on public land and have often thought about trying to camp back in the area that I hunt to save time on the walk in. Your book and your workout routine have rekindeled a fire inside of me to get in better shape . One day I hope to get to come out west and try to harvest a mule deer, elk and blacktail deer. Thanks for the great book and the inspiration.
