Hey Cam,
I have been following your web site for some time now and thought I should make a comment on your new entrys. I am truly impressed with your workout regime and your inner drive to be the best bow hunter you can possibly be. Incredible! You have been a huge inspiration to myself and so many others out there to push yourself to the very limit and beyond. I just got your Backcountry book for Christmas and just couldn’t put it down. Awesome book and bitch’n photo’s. “Cry in training, laugh in battle” love it!

Thanks Kyle and Daniel. I am so thankful to be a western bowhunter — tons of public land, remote mountain basins, big bulls and big bucks — awesome! The best part, with hard work our dreams can become reality and that is all a guy can ask for right? A chance. Bowhunting gives that chance, what we do with it is up to us.
Also Kyle — glad you are enjoying my book…thank you for saying so. Keep hunting hard, Cam

Cam,
Awesome!!!!!
I am an Eastern hunter but I must say that your book and your website have inspired me to get into the best physical shape I can in order to raise the bar on public land whitetails and black bears.
You are a true inspiration to all of us!!! Keep up the good work.
By the way, How would I go about sending you some success photo’s?
God Bless and may this be your best year ever!!!

Hi Cam,
These videos are great! And the Christmas card is one of the best I have ever seen. I’m impressed with your work ethic and drive. I don’t think a lot of hunters realize what it takes to truly hunt in the west as they might not have experienced it the way some have. Those who have experienced a true DIY hunt on public land with no guide and no one to help you pack out your trophy know that conditioning of the mind and body is not something you can easily obtain without a hard work ethic. Thanks for showing what it really takes.

Thats great stuff Cam. I just got your book this Christmas and I want to say great job. It’s an inspiration for me. I’m an Oregonian myself and plan on doing a hunt in the Three Sisters wilderness and this all pushes me more to get in shape and get ready thankyou!

Cameron,
I view your website all the time and the comments that others post, and one thing is for sure, you sure do have an influence on others. What a gift you have! You inspire others to make themselves better. Keep it up! See you at the ISE show.

To all…love your comments. In reading all these posts there is no doubt where your passion lies. The experiences that can be lived while hunting the mountains can be life changing. One look in the mirror gives me proof of that…I am no doubt a different person than I was pre-backcountry. I am so grateful to have lonely mountains to “find myself” and chase my dreams. Thank God for the Eagle Cap Wilderness. That country might not be home to the biggest trophy animals of the west, but to me, living deep within the wilderness boundaries is spirtiual. Keep hunting hard, Cam

Cameron,
This is my first comment but it probably won’t be my last. I recently discovered your website and have checked it every day since. You have been a great inspiration to me as a beginning bowhunter. You have inspired me to get into better shape, shoot (nearly) everyday, and to generally try to improve myself as a hunter everyday! Thank you very much for your inspiring words!
PS.
If you could make a post sometime on how you began hunting and what lead you to become the hunter you are today, I’m sure I, and many others would greatly appreciate it!

Tommy, You might want to pick up Cam’s book Backcountry Bowhunting ( A Guide to the Wild Side). It would give you alot of insight into what this hardcore dude is all about!

Cam, what an awsome season you had! I also tasted success in 2007. There is nothing like the feeling when you see that downed animal and knowing you worked your butt off and earned every second of that memory! Thanks Cam, for all that you do for this great sport, your an inspiration to all of us…See you in SLC.

Cam,
The Greater The Sacrifice…
The Greater The Reward…
- These videos released another drive of inspiration that I find nearly impossible to define. Someday, I will earn My first opportunity to experience The remote Backcountry. The anticipation of this “Someday” bowhunt is relentless. Primarily, I am a Michigan bowhunter but visions of the west are in my Dreams. Cameron you truly and honestly are my bowhunting idol.

I just finished reading your book backcountry bowhunting and I must say it was very helpful in learning the way to go about being a backcountry bowhunter. Even though I live in West Virginia I do all of my hunting on public land and have often thought about trying to camp back in the area that I hunt to save time on the walk in. Your book and your workout routine have rekindeled a fire inside of me to get in better shape . One day I hope to get to come out west and try to harvest a mule deer, elk and blacktail deer. Thanks for the great book and the inspiration.

Cam,
I just read your backcountry book, incredible. I have lived most of my life in Oregon, and this is the best testimony I have read about our blessed state. I also appreciate your honesty. Its not a bow, or a camo, its a hunter, his determination, and his work ethic that produce results. Keep up the “great” work.

Cam,
I have to say you’ve inspired me to get back in shape for the up coming fall. I live in the east and don’t hunt mountains as rough as you. I do hunt a lot of public land in Appalachian mnts that requires 1-3 hrs of walking to just get away from other hunters. Keep up the great work and look forward to getting your book.

Hey Cam,
Thats awesome you can push yourself to such extremes! I’m 15 and live and hunt mainly in Southern Oregon. I mainly bowhunt. But last year I wanted to get a deer under my belt. Hiked 5 miles into a wilderness area and killed a nice bodied buck!
If I had not read your books I’d be lost on the gear I needed in my adventures!
Thanks
And good luck!

Cameron,
Your dedication and training regimen have inspired me to get back into better hunting shape.
I spent today hiking and fly fishing in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virgina, and realized how far I am from the condition in which I need to be to get far back into mountainous public land.
Thanks.

Congrats on the Boston Marathon finish!
Another one for the bowhunters!
BTW. You need to leave a message on the back of your shirt so Lance Armstrong has something to read when he is trailing you!
